Ultrasonic inspection
Ultrasonic inspection of the tube furnace coils at petrochemical plants and refineries is one of the services provided by MagiCrot in cooperation with foreign partners.
Monitoring and inspection technology lets specialists isolate and measure coil tube faults as well as (if the technology is regularly used) to estimate the coils remaining life and the risk level during the operation of furnaces.This technology is successfully applied by the world refineries to increase fired heater optimization, thus increasing overall life expectancy.
The inspection method applied by MagiCrot makes it possible to uncover, isolate and estimate such coil tube defects as:
- Reduction in tube wall thickness
- Corrosion (internal and external)
- Erosion (internal and external)
- Bulging
- Pitting
- Geometric deformation
- Flame impingement
- Creep
- Ovality
Inspection application area
fired heaters:
- Radiant and Convection Sections (including finned tubes);
- U-Bends & Return Bends
- Applicable for inspection of tubes with the diameter range from 3.5” up to 8”
- Unpiggable Heaters and lines (for example, collector systems).
transfer lines
- Submerged or above grade
- With external insulation/closed (asbestos);
- Inter Facility – Pipe Racks etc.
It is almost mandatory that internal inspection is proceeded by hydro mechanical decoking to insure the complete cleanliness of the tube interior and removal of all possible mechanical obstructions (weld joint roughness, the remains of tubes, thermocouples, and other foreign obstructions etc.).
